Hey guys,
I'm super excited to be back with another edition is The Lovely Bookshelf. I feel as if it's been forever since I've written a book review. If you guys want to read some more check my last review or find The Lovely Bookshelf label under the Topics drop-down menu. I really love writing these posts and I have a few good books to review so let me know if you want to see more. Back to the point! Today I will be reviewing Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
It is such a fantastic book about the struggles of juggling family, boys, writing and school. We follow Cath as she has to become an independent university student when her twin sister chooses a different path. Wren, her sister, chooses to party and stay out late, but Cath is much happier focusing on her fan-fiction writing. Cath writes Simon Snow fan-fiction and has a huge online following. Then she starts to fall for her roommates ex and her whole life is turned upside down. Between her moody roommate, her separation from her sister, her new crush and her dads fragile state, Cath has to find a way to balance out her life and figure out her priorities.
I really enjoyed reading this emotional novel. It is well written and I honestly couldn't get enough. It made me smile, cry, laugh and was just so lovely. Fangirl isn't just a beautiful love story but it is also a story of how powerful fiction and fandom's can be and the impact they have on peoples lives. After reading this I honestly felt so inspired to go and follow my dreams (and join heaps of online communities!). This is such a good read, I would definitely recommend it to anyone, because it is perfect for all ages.
